" * 10/13-- Loveland Ski Area is scheduled to open at 9:00 am, Friday, October 14th, becoming the first resort in Colorado, as well as the first in the United States, to open for business. It will be the sixth consecutive season Loveland has opened ahead of the rest of the pack. ?The recent push from mother nature in combination with our snowmaking efforts has enabled Loveland Ski Area to kick off the 05/06 season,? said John Sellers, Marketing Director. The opening will be comprised of one 1,000 vertical foot run with top to bottom, side to side coverage. The minimum snow base will vary between 18 and 21 inches.?The next two days we will be busy grooming the snow we have and making snow at the base and in selected areas,? said Mark Abrahamson, Trail Maintenance and Snowmaking Manager, ?now it?s just a matter of setting up for opening day.?
